I enjoy being very active in the design and technology communities and value being up on what is new and interesting in both fields. This is why product design is where I belong; both fields marry beautifully. Which is also why, over the past few years, I have become consumed with customizing every item within my reach.

    Mods, hacks, making... Whatever
you want to call it; I like to shape
every facet of my design landscape.

I've always enjoyed Graphic Design, but I fell in love with product design in college while receiving my degree in Industrial Design from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. My studies at UIUC focused on developing products for those with disabilities. Those product concepts led me to my first patent-pending by the age of 19, two finalist positions in the Lemelson-Illinois Student Prize, visits to MIT, an opportunity as a guest speaker at the Boston Museum of Science and Industry, and the honor of being the first undergraduate to win Grand Prize at the international Collegiate Inventors Competition. This past summer I also escorted a design of mine to Washington D.C., where it was featured at the Smithsonian Folklife Festival.

Happiness is creating beautiful and useful things... while spinning some fresh vinyl and drinking a cool craft brew.

Originally, I am from the northwest suburbs of Chicago, but now I live and design in San Francisco. Since October 2010, I have been a designer at Bish Creative Display. I thoroughly enjoy traveling, which I've had the ability to do often since living in Florence, Italy in 2009. While traveling, I have become very interested in photography, but my core artistic media would have to be drawing. I've been drawing frequently since I was quite young.
